50 HOOK This recent investment in trichology and clinical serv- ices is only the latest innovation from Pamaya Red. In addition to the renovated build out of The Clinic, includ- ing a medical-grade laser, the salon also invested in a for- mulated line of hair care products, christened 'Rejené,' and formulated specifically to target hair loss. The line includes scalp prep solutions, DHT-free shampoo, daily vitamins, and growth boosters. But Rob is quick to affirm their hair care so- lutions are not reliant on the product line and they are not looking to sell products "over the internet," but instead their hair loss treatments are centered on in-person sessions and providing hair health guidance. Rob and Pamaya Red arrived in Piermont in 2002, originally setting up shop downtown and ultimately migrating to uptown Piermont. He jokes his next move is to complete the set and lay claim to midtown. But before settling down on this side of the Hudson, he started in NYC, then Fort Lee. "Piermont's a spe- cial place. You know what I mean? It's small but big. It's a beautiful place to have to come to work every day," shares Iala. Two decades in, Pamaya Red is so em- bedded within the Piermont community that their clients know them by sight. "We don't even have a sign" owner Rob Weinberg laughed. The salon, lined with wood and mirrors, is welcoming, airy, and full of supplies. The salon's longest running clients have been with them for more than forty years, following them from location to location. For Rob, it's all in the family. He has a client who he first met when she was a toddler because he had been doing her mother's hair since she was a teenager. Iala revealed she has a current client that she was the hair washer for back in the day. "You go through your life with them," she gushed, "You're a consistent person in their life." It's that type of re- lationship that naturally leads to a more holistic approach to hair, collaborating on hair care, not just hair styles.
