"Many years ago, we stumbled into a lit-
tle local restaurant. They had no menu,
and the food just came from the
kitchen. I thought, wow, this is great.
Don't have to think about anything. It
just comes. Our [brunch] is taking it to
another level. It's a fun way to spend a
Sunday a&ernoon."
As for what's next, look forward to an
outdoor dining experience set within a
beau5ful 'secret garden'. BASSO has
begun to serve guests outside with the
beginnings of warmer weather. As I was
closing out my meal with chamomile
and a bite of bisco7, I overheard the
table behind me gush, "This is a meal so
good, you have to laugh." And they're
right. You leave Basso feeling more than
full, you feel taken care of. Chef Kelly
knows this: "It's very special to me to be
part of people's lives."
