In 1969 joining a band was a lot like running away
and joining the circus. Restless men/boys found
salvation in living life on the road and became, in
Jerry Jeff Walker's own words, "gypsy songmen".
Like so many of their generation, the Outerspace
Band was looking to make the world into a better
place. They spent their college years rocking and
by graduation in 1972, the band had already
played hundreds of gigs, recently celebrating
their 50th anniversary. In 1977, after a decade on
the road, the band took a pause for the cause.
