%er the warm soups and stews
and tradi4onal winter vegetables
of potatoes, leek, and pumpkin to squash,
we all look forward to Spring's colors and crispy
greens.
Some of the first ones available here in our gardens
are radishes and kohlrabi. Everyone is familiar with
radishes; kohlrabi is less known, but so delicious.
The name kohlrabi comes from the German word
"cabbage turnip". It is in the same family as broccoli
and kale, with a lovely sweet flavor similar to the
stems of the broccoli.
