Sound
S5llness heightens our
intui5veness, but with
sounds of leaf blowers,
sirens and beeps at un-
healthily decible ranges
in the US — the joy fac-
tor can get diminished
(do you remember how
people would read
under a tree?). The ab-
sence of sound, and
sounds of music can el-
evate, while discordant
noise can depress.
When we are being
pulled into these high
frequency sounds,
health factors come
forefront into our lives.
HOOK 2023
'Dark sky parks' or 'dark sky preserves' are on the rise, as our air
cleansing process needs hours of darkness. In humans, light influ-
ences our circadian rhythms (the daily cycle of biological ac5vity in
a twenty-four hour period) through a small part of the brain called
the suprachiasma5c nucleus. A dark night provides rest and a
biological clock for people and animals alike. HOOK 2012
The Hudson
Valley's most
beau5ful residents
are without a doubt its
trees...take a moment to study
a tree or two, and appreciate their
contribu5ons to our leafy 'burbs'.
