Like her photos, Be4elynn McIlvain's history is layered with the mul3ple
mediums she pursued before finding her passion. She began modeling in
New York City a#er gradua3ng college, went on to work at Capital Records,
and became a paralegal before having her son and beginning her bout as a
fic3on short story writer. A self-taught macro photographer, McIlvain's uses
extreme close-ups, turning reality into imagina3on when she gets behind a
camera. Taking influence from the 17th Century Dutch Master painters and
the ground-breaking black-and-white portraits of Diane Arbus, she conceptu-
