IT'S NOT QUITE 3 AM as I start
the ignition in my Subaru and
take off to the Adirondack Park, a
place where wilderness feels end-
less between small hamlets and
communities. It's the beginning of
July 2024, and the cool night air
is comfortable around me. It's not
often I get to make this trip
nowadays, living out of state, so
when opportunity presents itself, I
do not hesitate.
