house," she jests. Having purchased and renovated seven homes in Nyack
over the course of 30 years Esgate worked with Russ Wooley, president and
owner of Nyack-based Wright Bros. to seal the deal.
The two met in 1993 when Esgate purchased her first property here and
have built not only a client/broker rela9onship on both the purchasing and
selling ends of the spectrum but a true friendship. "In our type of commu-
nity, which is small, many 9mes our clients can come to be close friends,"
says Wooley. "That's what happened a(er the first house with Pat. There
was admira9on for each other." And when a broker connects with a client

Esgate, the current owner who lovingly restored the
home... Wooley had intimate knowledge of this
particular property. (His mother was a personal friend
of Miriam Wexler.) He immediately knew that Esgate
was the right match to not only restore the home and
gardens, but also re-envision them for the next
century... "We're stewards of these structures so that
they can continue for the next 100 years," explains
Esgate. "Evolution is inevitable. Sometimes things
can't be salvaged but you can still honor and
celebrate them in innovative ways."
