A talk with Manoir's Sommelier
finds there are three wine cellars:
one for reds, one for whites, and
one for champagne. He suggests a
wine from Hungary with a min-
eral, floral, lighter type of wine or
a Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc from
the Loire Valley, classic with my
appe9zer of Eggplant with
Tomato, Zucchini Flower Rico:a,
and Honey. They look for the right
choices and posi9on their local
wines as there are two vineyards
right in North Hatley that people
are curious about, and as well
French, Hungary, Chile, Spain and
others including one from Corsica.
It's a wide variety of origins and
varietal of grapes.
My co:age near the lake is
lovely with a vaulted ceiling, fire-
place and fresh flower and the
newly opened lakeside pavilion
offers spacious rooms adorned
with a contemporary flair, amaz-
ing views of the lake and the Lau-
ren9an Mountains as a backdrop.
Infused with its charm and awe-
some surroundings, this is truly a
bit of paradise and a memory I
am savoring.
