Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante Na5onal Monument, through Zion Na5onal
Park, and into Grand Canyon Na5onal Park. Colorful layers of Pink, Grey, White,
Vermilion (Vermilion is a vivid reddish-orange color), and Chocolate Cliffs make
for quite a unique wonderland. We are on one the of the steps on top of the
fourth step which drops down to the Vermillion Cliffs of kanab. The step ahead
in our vista are the white cliffs of Navajo Sandstone which tower 500-feet.
Parry Lodge, where I am staying, is ideally located to the sites and is keen to
maintaining kanab's authencity and character, which of course brings a lot of his-
torical value to the area. In its heyday, 168 western movies were made there.
Rooms are named a%er leading western actors with a par5cular genre feel of the
old Hollywood western. It is 130 years old, and thankfully an op5on to the box
